SummaryUhuru Solidarity Movement organizers Alison Hoehne, Harris Daniels and Miah O'Malley-Thompson discuss the exciting Africa's Resources in African Hands campaign, part of which is building the Earth Day Fest & Flea Market in Philadelphia as a fundraiser for the African Village Survival Initiative programs. The festival, which is co-sponsored by the Uhuru Solidarity Movement and the African People's Education & Defense Fund -- the nonprofit that runs Uhuru Furniture & Collectibles and the AVSI programs, will feature a wide variety of live music, workshops, vendors, children's activities, and speakers including Ayesha Fleary of the All-African People's Development & Empowerment Projects and Ramona Africa, speaking on the 25th anniversary of the MOVE bombing. This festival is significant in building solidarity with the right of African & other oppressed peoples to organize and resist their conditions and overturn a social system that has enslaved and impoverished the vast majority of the peoples on the planet, as well as destroying the environment. And we stand for environmental justice through African liberation!
