This week on RIA, host Jamie Simpson conducts a roundtable discussion about the recent Supreme Court's decision to legalize same-sex marriage in the context of the crisis of the U.S. social system, rampant police terror against the African community, the burning of 7 black churches in the wake of the Charleston massacre, and the way forward for white LGBQT people who want to take a principled stance of solidarity with African liberation and reparations.
Guests Janice Kant of the African People's Solidarity Committee, and R.L. Starr of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement will discuss why it is in the interests of white LGQBT activists to refuse any attempt by U.S. imperialism to seduce us into the safe embrace of white complicity with a social system built on slavery and oppression. This program will challenge and define the "Gay & Lesbian Voice of White Solidarity with Black Power."
