SummaryThis week on Reparations In Action, in honor of the 15 years since the publication of this revolutionary, and unparalleled book , we will speak with it's author, the Chair of the African People's Solidarity Committee, Penny Hess about her work documenting and challenging the historical and current complicity of the white world in colonial oppression and exploitation of African, Indigenous and all colonized peoples. Host Jamie Simpson, and USM Chair Jesse Nevel will talk about the growing influence of OCOV, the work the Uhuru Solidarity Movement, and the philosophy of African Internationalism, developed by Chairman Omali Yeshitela of the African People's Socialist Party, and its significance to this historical period when oppressed people throughout the world are fighting to reclaim their land, lives and resources from European Imperialism. We will review key excerpts from this scathing critique of history from the perspective of the enslaved and colonized, as well as discuss the history and current work of the APSC and USM in continuing to expose white complicity and calling for principled solidarity with African Liberation and reparations from the white community.
