This April marks the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee (SNCC) that played a pivotal role in the development from the Civil Rights Movement to the Black Power Movement in the United States. Here we replay an interview done last year on Africa Live with Efia Nwangaza who was a member of SNCC's Atlanta Project which was responsible for putting forward the demand for Black Power. A 50th Anniversary SNCC Commemoration is being held in Raleigh, North Carolina at Shaw University where SNCC was first formed undr the tutelage of Ella Baker.
