Uhuru Radio: “Africa’s Resources in African Hands”: Supporting the Uhuru House Kitchen Project

The “Africa’s Resources in African Hands” Solidarity Action Network is raising resources across North America for true self-determination led by African people. Kitty Reilly, African People’s Solidarity Committee member, and Scott Milinder, a member of the Uhuru Solidarity Movement, will highlight the importance of supporting the Uhuru House Commercial Kitchen Project in St. Petersburg. Planned for a June launch, the kitchen project will mean more jobs and more economic development by and for the African community of St. Petersburg, where poverty exceeds 70% and unemployment is over 50%. Perhaps the greatest significance of the kitchen will be its example as a model for self-sustained economic development in the African community, in the U.S. and around the world.
