Gerald Horne on the U.S. Elections. Horne is an African born in the United States historian who currently holds the John J. and Rebecca Moores Chair of History and African American Studies at the University of Houston. He received his PhD from Columbia University and a J.D. from the University of California, Berkeley. He has written over 30 books. His most recent, Paul Robeson: The Artist as Revolutionary.

Dr. Julius Garvey, youngest son of Marcus Garvey, publicly announcing the filing of a petition is Professor Justin Hansford of St. Louis University Law School, who also represented the family of Michael Brown. The petition was prepared by two African born in America attorneys at Akin Gump, along with Dr. Garvey and Professors Hansford and Charles Ogletree. There was a statement for organizations to sign in support of a Presidential Pardon exonerating Garvey.
