Journalist, educator, author, and activist Herb Boyd talks about The Diary of Malcolm X and the Bandung Conference of 1955. Boyd has been named a MediaMaker by The HistoryMakers. Dr. Charles Simmons is an
activist/scholar and community advocate committed to local and global
community building as it relates to social, education, economic and
environmental justice. Dr. Charles Simmons is a
tenured full professor of Journalism and Law at Eastern Michigan
University. He also served on the faculty of Howard University and
California State University Los Angeles, and was a Visiting Professor
at Wayne State University. He is a graduate of Langston University, Oklahoma where he won the Melvin B. Tolson Award for Creative Writing;
and Columbia University's Graduate School of Journalism, where he was also a Fellow in the Graduate School of International Affairs. He is
