Join us for this final installment of our Black Music Month series. Richmond plays listener requests during the first hour. Interview with multi-talented, multi-lingual, Toronto, Canada born entertainer Gail Berry. Special guest is Marika Sherwood, author of Malcolm X Visits Abroad. Sherwood was born in Hungary and has lived all over the world. While teaching in England she began researching Black history in Britain, more particularly the political activists of the past century. In 1991 she co-founded the Black and Asian Studies Association, which now campaigns for various educational issues. Musical tribute to rhythm and blues vocalist Bobby "Blue" Bland, who joined the ancestors on June 23rd, 2013. Born in Tennessee in 1930, some of Bland's most popular music hits are "Further on up the Road", "I'll Take Care of You", and "Turn on Your Love Light". Bland was inducted into the Blues Foundation's Hall of Fame in 1981 and the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 1992. Visit Norman (Otis) Richmond aka Jalali on Facebook.
