African Socialist International Chairman Omali Yeshitela speaks on the development of the prison economy and the role of the state in the U.S. at a community meeting in St. Petersburg, Florida. The Chairman discusses the 13th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution which legalized the ability of the U.S. government to force Africans into servitude in the post-slavery era. He also reviews the role of prisons as a component of the the U.S. state in its function to enforce colonial exploitation of African workers.
