On June 17, 2015, 21-year-old white nationalist gunman Dylann Roof murdered 9 Africans at the African Methodist Episcopal (AME) Church in Charleston, North Carolina. The next day African Socialist International Chairman Omali Yeshitela spoke about the massacre to the press at the Uhuru House in St. Petersburg, Florida. Chairman Omali then addressed a special community meeting at the Uhuru House on June 19, 2015, discussing the historic context of the shooting at the church whose founding members included the heroic Denmark Vesey and called for Africans to get organized today to build and defend the African nation. This broadcast includes both presentations by Chairman Omali Yeshitela.
