Bunchy Carter was born on October 12, 1942 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He was influenced by Haiti's Jean-Jaques Dessalines and Kenya's Dedon Kamathi Land and Freedom Party AKA Mau Mau. Southern California based writer Linden Beckford, Jr. Beckford attended Grambling State University in Grambling, Louisiana where he majored in history. Beckford is currently working on the biography of Alprentice "Bunchy" Carter, due to be completed by 2015. The multi-talented Jeanette Baker returns.
