Producer/Host Norman (Otis) Richmond aka Jalali shines the musical spotlight on John William Coltrane. Trane would have turned 85 on September 23rd. He shared the same birth date with Soledad Brother George Jackson who would have been 70 on that day. Jalali presents a dialogue between historians Dr. Gerald Horne (author of
Cold War in a Hot Zone, The United States Confronts Labor and Independence Struggles in the British West Indies) and Dr. Rupert Charles Lewis (author of Walter Rodney's Intellectual and Political Thought). He also interviews Community Organizer Carolann Wright-Parks on the state of the African community in Halifax, Nova Scotia.
