We will start with a Christmas Eve dialogue between Omali Yeshitela, Chairman of the African People's Socialist Party and the African Socialist International and Frederick Peterson -a Congressional Defense Policy Advisor - discussing the recent Police shooting of Antonio Martin, an 18 year old African in Berkeley, Missouri.

The shooting occurred just a few miles away from Ferguson, Missouri - where on August 9th, 2014 Michael Brown an 18 year old unarmed African was shot several times by Cop Darren Wilson. Brown's death was the catalyst for a on-going campaign of African resistance in Missouri and across the world. On the evening of Monday November 24, 2014, St. Louis County Prosecutor Robert McCulloch announced that there would be no grand jury indictment in the murder of Michael Brown, an 18 year old unarmed by Ferguson cop Darren Wilson. The resistance spread through 170 cities in the United States and hundreds of other cities in the world.

As the non indictments of killer cops have continued to come down from Eric Garner in Staten Island, NY and others, it is clear that the People are not going to let their murders deaths go unchallenged.

Berkeley Missouri, Mayor Theodore Hoskins - said at the press conference on the police murder of Antonio Martin - That Berkeley is not Ferguson. We will hear Chimurenga Waller, Director of Recruitment and Membership, of the African People's Socialist Party dissect that statement.

We will also hear from Kobina Bantushango of the African People's Socialist Party - discussing the shooting of Antonia Martin and the importance of community control of police in the African community.

Life Malcolm, is the Managing Editor of The Burning Spear Newspaper. After reporting extensively on police brutality and the police murder of Africans in Tampa, Malcolm's social media accounts were monitored and is now facing a possible 7 year sentence because of a Facebook post. His trial began on Monday, December 15th, in Tampa Florida. We will speak with him to get an update on his case and the attempt by the State to crush the press of African resistance.

On the evening of Monday November 24th, 2014, St. Louis County prosecutor, Robert P. McCulloch, stood at a news conference packed with reporters from around the world. He announced a verdict that a grand jury comprised of nine whites and three blacks had agreed to in the case of Ferguson Missouri cop Darren Wilson in the murder of Michael Brown, an 18 year old unarmed African man-child on August 9th 2014. He said that the jury had decided to not indict the cop.

After 107 days of on-going active resistance by African people in Ferguson, Missouri, it was no surprise that the people met the police in the streets. The occupying army called the police have killed numerous African and other oppressed people before during and after the murder of Michael Brown. We need a plan for the moving forward of the liberation of Africa and African people on the continent and throughout the Diaspora.

On Tuesday October 1st, 2014 in Buenos Aires, Argentina's President Cristina Kirchner charged that domestic and US interests were pushing to topple her government, and could even kill her.

Kirchner said that on her recent visit to fellow Argentine Pope Francis - whose help she has sought in Argentina's ongoing debt default row-police warned her about supposed plots against her by Islamic State activists.She refuted their assessment and said quote, "So, if something happens to me, don't look to the Mideast, look north to the United States."

How can Detroit be in the midst of a water crisis, when it sits next to the Great Lakes which contains the largest body of freshwater on earth and 84 percent of North America's freshwater supply? Abayomi Azikiwe of the Moratorium NOW! Coalition, will explain and tell us about what has been happening in Detroit. Since April, 3000 residences a week have had their water service shut off if they owed $150.00 or had two months of non payment.With an African population of more than 80 percent, it is estimated between 200,000 to 300,000, residents will be affected by this Shock Doctrine measure. Recently, the United Nations declared the shutoffs a human rights violation.

Early this month, an Arab armed fighting force, called ISIS which stands for the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, begin to invade Iraq. As of today they have seized several major cities and are moving towards Baghdad. Iraq is a nation of 36 million people and is 169 square miles, which is the slightly larger than the total area of the United States city of Tampa, Florida.

The British established, the state of Iraq, through a 1920 mandate from the League of Nations. Since then imperialist have maintained a consistent instability in this region through the support of different religious and ethnic factions. Yeshitela will present the historical context of the imperialist attack on Iraq to control its oil reserves and production and address the reality of the US attack on Iraq in coming days.

China was a friend and has an extensive pedigree from its support of many African nations during and after their liberation struggles. It is a conservative estimate that more than 1 million Chinese live and work throughout Africa. In 2009, China surpassed the United States as Africa's largest trading partner.With a population of more than 1.3 billion people, heavily industrialized China has the second largest economy in the world and is considered a superpower. We will discuss with Yeshitela the troubling implications of the rise of China as the third superpower on the continent of Africa and the recent intervention of their military to protect its economic interest. He will explain the relationship between these two events and the thesis of his new book,An Uneasy Equilibrium: The African Revolution versus Parasitic Capitalism.

We move on from there to discuss Maya Angelou, an African author and poet who died at the age of 86 on May 28, 2014. She presented her poetry throughout the world, published seven autobiographies, three books of essays, several books of poetry, and was credited with a list of plays, movies and television shows spanning more than 50 years. She received dozens of awards and over 30 honorary doctoral degrees. Angelou is best known for her series of seven autobiographies, which focus on her childhood and early adult experiences. The first, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings (1969), tells of her life up to the age of 17 and brought her international recognition and acclaim. She was active in the Civil Rights Movement and worked with Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X. She was counted among her contemporaries James Baldwin and John O Killens, and John Henrik Clarke. We listen to her read one of her most famous poems Still I Rise and then later we listen to an excerpt from an interview where she discussed her memories of Malcolm and his significance to the struggle.

This interview with the newly appointed chairwoman took place on Monday April 14, 2014 in Houston, Texas.

The New Black Panther Party was initially founded in Dallas, Texas and would later bill itself as a national organization with Dr. Khalid Muhammad as it's Chairman. Upon the Death of Comrade Khalid Muhammad, the organization was then headed by Attorney Malik Zulu Shabazz.

This is interview is important because of the work that the Party is doing in Hemphill, Texas around the murder and lynching of an African man in November 2013. After being missing since November 23rd, Alfred Wright's body was founded by volunteer searchers. His eyes were gouged out, throat was slashed, tongue and ears cut off out. The local coroner and sheriff have ruled Alfred Wright's death an accidental drug overdose.

This week guest host Alex Darby talks with Omali Yeshitela, Chairman of the African Socialist International and the African People's Socialist Party about Lil Bobby Hutton and Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Today's show features two special segments - the first on the death of Little Bobby Hutton and the second on two speeches by Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

We will look at the assassination of Little Bobby Hutton, the first member of the Black Panther Party. Hutton was 18 years old, when he was killed by Oakland Police on April 6, 1968, two days after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther Jr.

In the April 30, 1967 speech by Dr. King,"Why I Am Opposed to the War in Vietnam," he said,"America and most of its newspapers applauded me in Montgomery when I stood before thousands of negroes getting ready to riot when my home was bombed and said 'We cannot do it this way.' They applauded us in the sit-in movement when we nonviolently decided to sit-in at lunch counters. They applauded us on the Freedom Rides when we accepted blows without retaliation. Oh the press was so noble in its applause and so noble in its praise when I was saying be nonviolent toward Bull Connor. There is something strangely inconsistent about a nation and a press that would praise you when you say be nonviolent toward Jim Clark but will curse and damn you when you say be nonviolent toward little brown Vietnamese children "

In Dr. King's April 3rd, 1968 speech,"I've Been to the Mountaintop,"he said, "Something is happening in our world. The masses of people are rising up. And wherever they are assembled today, whether they are in Johannesburg, South Africa; Nairobi, Kenya; Accra, Ghana; New York City; Atlanta, Georgia; Jackson, Mississippi; or Memphis, Tennessee -- the cry is always the same: 'We want to be free.'" In less than 24 hours King was assassinated in Memphis, Tennessee on April 4, 1968.

Walter Rodney (23 March 1942 - 13 June 1980) was a prominent Guyanese historian, political activist and preeminent scholar, who was assassinated in Guyana in 1980. He is the author of Walter Rodney Speaks: the Making of an African Intellectual (1990); A History of the Guyanese Working People, 1881-1905 (1981); How Europe Underdeveloped Africa (1972); A History of the Upper Guinea Coast (1970); The Groundings with my Brothers (1969).

Rodney viewed the role of the academic as a revolutionary role that required them to be solidly grounded in the African community and committed to the struggle and liberation of Africa and Africans.

They will discuss the African People's Socialist Party commemoration of Feb 21st as the Day of the African Martyrs. Yeshitela will focus on the assassinations of Malcolm X on February 21st,1965 and Huey P. Newton on August 22nd, 1989.

Yeshitela looks at the recent trial of white nationalist Michael Dunn in his on the street execution of 17 year old Jordan Davis in November 23, 2012 in Jacksonville, Florida.

Turning to the recent events in Venezuela, Yeshitela exposes the imperialist strategy of destabilization.

As Colorado and other states move to legalize and decriminalize marijuana, Chairman Omali states the position of APSP and targets the unaddressed factors that impact African and other oppressed communities - as he makes it clear that "The State has formally become a drug pusher."

We will close with an update on the African People's Socialist Party February 9th Dual & Contending Power Conference.
