African People's Socialist Party Chairman Omali Yeshitela reviews the 10 years of political struggle and development in St. Petersburg, Florida following the November 13, 1996 armed police assault on the Uhuru House (the APSP's national headquarters and local African community center), in which the surrounding African working class community courageously defended the movement, defeating a 300-strong military force, including downing a police helicopter. Yeshitela explains the social phenomenon of dual and contending power in the revolutionary process and describes the destructive role played by the African petty bourgeoisie.
