Hosts Ivory Sobukwe-SoDaye, International People's Democratic Uhuru Movement (InPDUM) President, and Kobina Bantushango, InPDUM International Membership Coordinator, will interview Robert King Wilkerson one of the Angola 3 who was exonareted by the state in 2001 & released after spending 29 years of his life in solitary confinement from Angola prison in Louisiana!
Robert King Wilkerson, Herman Wallace, & Albert Woodfox who have become known as the Angola 3 were arrested and placed in Angola prison in the 1960's! Upon realizing the harsh conditions of the prisoners within Angola they organized a chapter of the Black Panter Party as a strategy to end systematic rapes, violence, & to improve the living conditions of the prisoners. As a result of the Angola 3 organizing multiple strikes and sit-ins to improve the living conditions of the prisoners, they were removed from the general population and placed in solitary confinement in 1972 in which Wilkson spent 29 years, and Wallace & Woodfox would spend 36 years in solitary confinement.
Both Wallace & Woodfox still remain in prison but not under solitary confinement. On this show, Robert King wilkerson will discuss the history of the Angola 3, his experiences while in solitary confinement, what strategy is in place to help liberate both Wallace and Woodfox, and campaigns our general audience can get involved in!
